A few years ago, the introduction of Project Runway ignited the television landscape with its unique take on fashion and the people who create it. As with any successful shows, imitators are bound to follow. Last week we saw the debut of the newest imitator Fashion Star. The main hook/difference of the show is that designers present their creations on the runway and then are critiqued by not just a panel of mentors/judges, but also by a panel of buyers from Macys, Saks Fifth Avenue, and H&M. These buyers also have the option of placing an order for the clothing that was shown by the designer. The items are then available that night via their respective retail portals. One of the designers who received an order on the first show was Detroit native Nzimiro Oputa who showcased a series of sporty blazers.
The blazer is a normal fit blazer in a linen blend with two welt pockets up top, welt pockets and fastened pockets at front. It features imitation suede elbow patches, decorative buttons on sleeve cuffs, and back vent. The blazer is fully lined.
We were quite impressed with the style and quality of the blazer. That compounded with its reasonable price of $49.99, we can definitely see why it’s almost (as of this writing) sold out. we cannot wait to see what Nzimiro Oputa has in store for future shows.
