Webster Style Cinema: Worst 5 Movies of 2011 (That we watched)

Every year Hollywood tries to find new ways of filling seats in movie theaters by dangling moviegoers with the tantalizing prospect of big name actors, dazzling special effects, and/or most importantly, a good story. While many major movies were released by Hollywood studios this year, it is tough (and expensive) to see each and everyone. Here is a short list of the worst five movies (in no particular order) that we saw this year.

1. Twilight: Breaking Dawn pt. 1

This is a movie that was taken for the team. It ranks right up there with one of the worst movies that we have ever seen. We can’t find any reason to like this movie.

2. Dylan Dog: Dead of Night

While Dylan Dog has some redeeming qualities, the movies lands on our very short list because of Brandon Routh’s wooden performance. It’s so bad that it makes his performance as Superman in Superman Returns look Oscar worthy.

3. Season of the Witch

Speaking of wooden acting, enter Nicholas Cage. Unlike Brandon Routh, Mr. Cage has a unique style that we have come to enjoy. You know what to expect with a Nicholas Cage film, a film so bad that its good. Season of the Witch definitely fits this category.

4. Green Lantern

We can only use two words to describe Green Lantern; CLUSTER F@@k! Nuff said.

5. Twilight: Breaking Dawn pt 1.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn pt1. was such a horrible movie that it deserves to be on this list twice.
