Women of Webster: Jasmine Diaz

With over ten years of entertainment industry experience, Jasmine Diaz has worked in various sectors of the business from artist management, to music marketing, to accounting.

Her work with the National Association of Record Industry Professional (NARIP) as Director of Marketing, and the Georgia Entertainment Association (GEA) as Music Advisory Board Member gave her the additional insight she needed on what the busy professional requires in order to find love.

Her longing to help friends and family find their own “perfect catch” fueled a desire to build a full-service matchmaking firm to help others find their soul mate. Now, as owner of the Shawn Mackenzi Agency, an exclusive, discreet, upscale Los Angeles based matchmaking agency, Jasmine has set her sights high and will stop at nothing until each client has found their ideal match.

1. In your own words who is Jasmine Diaz?

Jasmine Diaz is a multi-faceted woman. She is the greatest friend you will ever have, but the last person you want to mess with. She has a big heart with big dreams, and is determined to take over the world one person at a time.

2. What drives you to be successful?

I am fortunate enough to have an amazing family that has instilled in me a burning desire to want to help and encourage people. When I think of succeeding, I think about my family; I think about those who fail every day whether it be at love or life, and I want to give back by providing opportunities. Being successful helps me do that.

3. Finish this sentence “In five years I will be…”

In five years I will be a brand name. Oprah and Kim Kardashian will be wondering how I did it, and want to buy in on it.

4. What makes you smile?

My clients, unbelievable husband, and my family. Making them proud and seeing them happy is worth a million smiles.

5. What gave you the inspiration to start The Shawn Mackenzi Agency?

There wasn’t a particular moment that inspired me. I have always been someone people could confide in. I’m very opinionated yet loyal, so giving advice keeping it confidential comes natural.  I recognized that there were a lot of single professionals who lacked direction when it came to dating. Now I have an opportunity to guide them through the process.

6. Do you think chivalry is dead?

I can’t say I believe that chivalry is dead because my husband proves to me every day that it is not; however, I can say for most of the dating population it is. Dating has changed over the years, and men don’t feel as though they have to work as hard as they used to because the numbers are far greater in their favor.  I believe that a man should always want to prove their “manliness” by stepping up and taking charge. Opening doors and pulling out chairs is cool!

7. If you could do or be anything, what would it be and why?

Who I am today and what I do right now as a matchmaker is all I could ever dream of being. I am the happiest because I get to live one of my dreams. I would; however, love to be an accomplished songwriter. Music has always been my life, and melodies are always on my mind.

8. What qualities do you expect a Webster Man to have or demonstrate?

When I think of a Webster Man, I think of a well-kept; clean-cut man. He is sure of himself and knows what he wants in life. He is polished, chivalrous, and well educated….talk about a smooth operator!

9. What is one secret about women that you think all men should know?

Every woman is different, but I think a man who doesn’t try too hard to impress a woman; a man who has swagger and confidence is a man many women will want. Confidence goes a very long way and can sometimes trump looks.

  1. Very nice Jasmine! We really do need men to step up and be gentlemen again. I do feel like they don’t put in the effort any more, like you said, because the number of women to men ratio. But I like what you are doing to bring professional men and women together with Shawn Mackenzi Agency!
